Look out for the water

Liz and I were visiting her brother Geoff near Tulsa, Oklahoma. Geoff, his wife Debbie, and three-year-old Melissa wanted to go for an airplane ride. Twenty miles north of the airport, over a large lake, I started turning around. I made a thirty degree bank turn toward Melissa's side of the airplane.

Suddenly she screamed, "We're going to fall in the water! We're going to fall in the water!"

In spite of our efforts to reassure her, she was crying and almost uncontrollable the rest of the flight. It was a long ten minutes. She was eight years old the next time she flew.
