Walls Down Under

September 21 - October 17, 2001

Liz, my parents and I flew commercial to Sydney,
Australia. Then I rented a Cessna 182 and we flew 46 hours and 6000 miles counterclockwise around their country. Based on an American license, an Australian license for daytime/good weather (VFR) can be purchased for $25. I spent two days and six hours of flight time to obtain an Australian instrument rating. We flew from Sydney to Cairns, Darwin, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Kangaroo Island, Melbourne and Tasmania and many points between. Our trip log can be found on the web at http://www.burnclouds.net/flying/walls_downunder.doc. Information I compiled about flying a rented Cessna 182 is on the web at http://www.burnclouds.net/flying/flying_downunder.doc
